Exports/Travelling your Horse outside the UK
Yorkshire Equine Practice has vets qualified to complete export certificates should you wish to travel any horse abroad.
Horses/Ponies travelling abroad usually require a veterinary inspection 48 hours prior to leaving the UK. An Export Health Certificate has to be completed by a vet. Certain countries will also require blood tests, swabs or quarantine. This is stipulated by the country of import and will be detailed on the Export Health Certificate, which must accompany the horse during transport.
Please contact the Animal & Plant Health Agency https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/welfare-arrangements-for-the-export-of-horses-and-ponies-from-great-britain-guidance-notes-for-exporters if you require any further information on travelling or exporting your horse.
